Frozen Shoulder Rehabilitation Program
Let's restore your shoulder mobility and function
Frozen shoulder (adhesive capsulitis) is a condition in which the capsule surrounding the shoulder joint becomes painful, inflamed, and stiff, resulting in a gradual loss of shoulder movement. As symptoms progress, it can significantly impact sleep, work, exercise, and everyday activities, making even simple tasks challenging and frustrating.
How we'll approach treatment for Frozen Shoulder
At Calgary Core Physiotherapy, we have developed a comprehensive Frozen Shoulder Program designed to support you through every stage of recovery, helping you regain mobility, reduce pain, and return to the activities that matter most.
What does our Frozen Shoulder Rehabilitation Program include?
-
Assessment
A thorough assessment by an experienced physiotherapist focused on identifying the extent of mobility loss and functional challenges. Our goal is to provide you with a clear diagnosis and help you fully understand your condition and recovery process.
-
Ongoing Evaluation
Throughout your treatment program, we continually monitor your progress and adapt your rehabilitation plan accordingly.
-
Imaging (If Needed)
In certain situations, diagnostic imaging such as X-rays, ultrasound, or MRI may be recommended to rule out other causes of shoulder pain or confirm findings when necessary.
-
A Personalized Action Plan
Based on current research and clinical experience, your physiotherapist will develop an individualized treatment plan tailored to your stage of recovery. Your plan will include pain management strategies, manual therapy techniques, and most importantly, mobility restoration exercises.
-
A Treatment Schedule
Your Frozen Shoulder Program will include weekly or bi-weekly appointments for approximately 8–10 weeks, allowing us to monitor your progress and adjust your treatment as needed. No matter which stage of frozen shoulder you are experiencing, we will create a plan tailored to your specific needs and goals.
-
Collaboration with Other Health Care Providers (If Needed)
If necessary, we work closely with your physician, sports medicine specialist, orthopedic surgeon, or other health care providers to ensure coordinated care throughout your recovery.
-
Return to Full Function
As your mobility and strength improve, your rehabilitation progresses toward restoring normal daily activities, exercise participation, recreational pursuits, and work demands. Our goal is not only to improve shoulder motion but to help you confidently return to the activities that matter most to you.
